Serbian Genetics Society has been founded during 1968. and officiel registrated at SUP-Belgrade. Among the first activities of the Society has been editing of scientific Journal GENETIKA. After Statute verifiying during 1984. the name has been changed in the Serbian Union of Genetic. This Union became the member of Yugoslav Union of Genetics Societies and member of the Union of Scientific Biological Societies of Yugoslavia. During 1993. Society returned to the first name and as Serbian Genetics Society registrated by SUP/Belgrade by the decision No. 212 - 1 - 203 / 96.
Serbian Genetics Society is registrated at Serbian Ministry of Science and Technology as scientific society.
